On 31 July 2025, Seismic Asia Pacific partnered with SBG Systems to host the INS Mastery for Surveyors webinar. This live online session brought together hydrographic professionals from across the region to deepen their knowledge of inertial navigation systems (INS) and their role in modern survey workflows.

Interest was high, with over 37 attending live. Participants remained engaged for the nearly 90 minute session, showing the value of this focused training. One of the standout aspects of the INS Mastery for Surveyors webinar was the diversity of participants. We had everyone from seasoned hydrographic surveyors and industry professionals to university students just beginning their journey in geospatial sciences.

The session unpacked key aspects of INS technology for hydrographic surveys:

  • INS selection and integration — matching systems to survey needs

  • Improving data accuracy through advanced navigation methods

  • Workflow optimisation to save time in the field

  • Real-world case studies from active survey projects

  • Live Q&A with SBG experts, offering practical insight

For surveyors, ocean mappers and geospatial professionals, staying at the forefront of technology is essential. Our webinars provide:

  • Professional development opportunities — practical knowledge ready to apply on the job

  • CPD point eligibility — structured learning hours that can support ongoing accreditation

  • Direct access to experts — a chance to engage with leading manufacturers and industry specialists

More to Come

The success of this webinar highlights the strong appetite for targeted, practical training. That’s why Seismic Asia Pacific is planning to host these sessions more frequently throughout 2025 and beyond. With each event, we aim to provide a platform where professionals can learn, ask questions, and sharpen their skills while earning CPD credits.
