After years of collaboration with the Port of Brisbane and their use of our NORBIT Subsea multibeam echo sounders, Seismic Asia Pacific is thrilled to announce a significant milestone in our partnership. We are proud to supply the ultra-high-resolution NORBIT WINGHEAD i77h, a state-of-the-art technology designed to elevate hydrographic surveying capabilities and increase sustainability at the Port of Brisbane.
The WINGHEAD i77h represents the cutting edge of maritime innovation, streamlining processes, reducing turnaround times, and optimizing logistics. The recently acquired NORBIT WINGHEAD i77h has already been deployed for a full hydrographic survey of the Future Port Expansion Site (FPE)Â and the outer seawall.
This system has excelled in meeting demanding project objectives, such as achieving precise positional accuracies even while operating in challenging shallow waters, with some areas having depths of less than 1.0m.
Combining multibeam echo sounder data with helicopter LiDAR outputs, the WINGHEAD i77h delivered highly detailed imagery and density metrics, enabling difference plots to track rock wall movement over time (see below for detailed imagery).
This project highlights the system's ability to overcome complex surveying challenges while supporting the Port of Brisbane's operational excellence and sustainability goals.
